The ///M Badge on the front kidney grille

Hi everyone, just wondering, is there a "standard" to place the front mounted ///M car front badge (with the two screws).

For example, the car has two Kidneys. Do we place it on the kidney closer to the driver or the passenger side.

And do we mount it to a side? Or middle?

Or simply : Who cares, just "mount" anyway you see - fit?

It isn't standard. If im not wrong though, most AC Schnitzer folks put it on the right..

I know this sounds "antique" but so far does any BMeers, place car badges (other than the AC S-something or the ///M) ones. For example, the AA badges or other badges? Curious?

I know that ///M is like the Mercedes Benz AMK type of Sporty - update or upgrade...

But what does it stands for ///M (Motorsports?) So sorry, I am a newbie.. and I know there is the AC S..somethin and this famous one.. This ///M is suppose to be BM's inhouse - upgrade?

I opened the bonnet and can't figure how to remove the passenger side kidney grille to install this ///M logo with screws and nuts.

Found this while searching another site:

Saw another site, and it says that the grille has a total of six "clips": Two at the top, two at the bottom and one each on the side. If so, what is the best way of "unclipping" and where to start e.g. top "unclip" than both sides?... Another say, use a flat tip screw driver and from the engine side, try to prise the clips... but earlier I checked and couldn't find an opening from the engine bay say to do this....

My is a new face-lift E90... Is this how we prise or pop-out the kidney grille, or I need to prise some hold-on-connectors? Thanks very much!

there are 2 clips at the bottom, 3 on top, 1 left & 1 right.
release the bottom 2, then the sides followed by top.
hope it helps

almost forgot, what u do is use your index finger, put in into the grille and try to feel for these clips

yup, if still cannot, then u have to pop bonnet and release the torx screws thats holding the top of your front bumper in place and put your hand in to unclip em.
u sure u can handle it? wait spoil your manicure wor....haha
or else can pop by my place, i do it for u FOC

Great advice! DONE!

Before, this:

1. When I got my ride, the Sales Rep, gave me the key and I drove off!
2. Earlier was at a car park... and trying to figure how to pop up the bonnet! Went to the left side (passenger side) and could not find the handle to pop up the bonnet.
3. Went back... and touched the driver's side... and suddenly press a button and could hear the back boot pop open sound.. immediately later found the handle to the bonnet. Went to the bonnet, luckily the "yellow" catch was easy to pop-up phew.! How come german cars also got boot pop-up?

By the way I also saw that ///M7 along Serangoon Gardens which is the only 7-er I ever saw driving like a headless C@ck. Separately I just a ///M335 today . very soon BMWs are gonna have M badge everywhere some Merc with AMG badges. Omar, I think u better change to \\\Mitsuoka badge.

M badges do get stuck on cars tat have M accessories, like in Philippines. Different distributors have different ways of marketing their cars, FYI.
