Plato, not Socrates. Plato taught me nothing on politics. It was more on a familiar kind of Socratic dialogue about justice, just as the Euthyphro is about piety and the Meno is about virtue. Plato was refuting Thrasymachus' view on justice. I am trying to apply the same syllogism on PML's exorbitant pricing over fellow bimmer drivers.
Thrasymachus said, "I declare justice is nothing but the advantage of the stronger." In this context, certain acts, such as robbery and violence, are normally called "injustice," but when they are practiced wholesale by rulers, they are justice. In other words, the interest of the stronger, the rulers. Thus, when we consider ordinary citizens, "the just man comes off worse than an unjust man everywhere." So, no matter how just we are, we will come off worse than the unjust PML......

I'm kinda rusty on The Repulic since I read it nearly 5 years ago. I got thru most of it and got quite disgusted after realising that Plato's utopic Republic state is not a descriptive of a political model.
As far as I am concern, the greater question is how does one (human being) understand/know/decide Justice. Is it a priori or a social/cultural construct i.e. a posteori? Then, granted that human beings can never be truely objective and know the Truth of any event, how can human beings be allowed to decide on Justice? Ultimately, we bring ourselves to a paradoxical state where it is unjust to decide on what is just.
