Relieved that we are into the last eight, despite not playing well.

Looks like you're gonna have your hands full chasing the treble.

must admit that the fixtures are very demanding, tougher run in than Arsenal / Man C / Chelsea / Pool. Every game from now is like a cup final!

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

thanks, the nasi briyani dum was especially nice.
the curry gravy was thick enough but not gooey.
some stalls make it with too much coconut milk, hence the smell is too much to take.

they also use the indian grains to cook the rice...those longer than usual grains....
nice!

it sure tastes better than chewing gum that the red face scot chews! haha.....

Me?

Not sour grapes at all. If you check what I said previously, I want ManU to go all the way in the Champs league and hopefully meet Barca. If you can beat Barca then you deserve the Champs league title. If you can't beat Barca, then the Champs league would have been a distraction and a waste, just like the Carling Cup was for Arsenal. I would have preferred for Arsenal to get knocked out at the first round of the CC than to go all the way to the final and lose and on top of that incur injuries. Waste time.

Arsenal only has one thing left to chase - the BPL. The more distracted ManU is the better for us. So it is in our interest that ManU do well in other competitions (up to the final stage only, of course).

This is just being practical. Arsenal's squad really very soft. ManU has a 41 yr old keeper that plays like a 21 yr old. Arsenal has a goalkeeper crisis that it has to get special permission to sign on Lehman! I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that there are no more injuries. We really can't afford any more if we want to chase the title.

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

LOL, Lehman is a dreaded word........ on the pitch or in the financial world......

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

It's the journey that counts (so long as MU give it their best shot), so it is fantastic to be challenging for the treble no matter what the final outcome. Arsenal may implode at this stage based on what happened in the past years so probably Man City will be the one chasing MU for the BPL title.

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

Real looked impressive, 3-0 vs Lyon.

march is the month that champion is separated from the rest

Sure, Arsenal are showing signs of a meltdown but I think it would be a blessing in disguise as they now can fully focus on the premiership. Well, knowing Arsenal.... sigh! (Bro Highbury will remind me to sing George Michael's Faith)

Man City??? You dont think Chelsea are still up for it?

The referees need to be consistent. Consistently good or bad!

LOL!!! You're right... they are consistently BAD.

Champions' League last 8: Barca, Chelsea, Inter, Man Utd, Real Madrid, Schalke, Shakhtar Donetsk, Spurs......

A few pedigree names missing...... Bayern, AC Milan........

Europa: Liverpool lost at Braga 1-0, Man City lost at Kiev to Dynamo 2-0......

I think the reason is that Arsenal can only play with one tactic...... the strengths of Arsenal is in the build-up in the midfield area. The likes of Fabregas, Nasri, Wilshere has been fabulous to watch - perhaps the most flamboyant of BPL teams.

But take a look at the strikers. Only Van Persie is felt on the field. Chamakh and Bendtner are mostly passengers. Compare that to Utd's out of form Rooney, Hernandez and Berbatov......

Defence is another issue. Goalkeepers' injury is unfortunate, but Djourou, Squillaci and Koscielny look lightweight even when compared to Smallings, Evans and Brown......
