Suspension Unbalanced

My 3.5 year old suspension is unbalanced. Rear left has 2 finger gap while rear right is only 1.5 finger gap.

Can this be rectified or needed full replacement? Which aftermarket sports suspension would you recommend? Thanks.

Re: Suspension Unbalanced

Normally it was due to leaked or worn out absorber, check your spring too.

Bilstein B6 or KW coilover.

Re: Suspension Unbalanced

Normal if you google this forum.

Re: Suspension Unbalanced

stock suspension and any lowering spring will give you right lower than left - this is the problem with bmw suspension setup unless you use coilover to adjust the 4 suspension to your desired height choon choon left & right.
after 3.5 years then you realise right is lower than left?

Re: Suspension Unbalanced

First time to bmw bought secondhand recently, heard of imbalance ball sizes, but never know the right lower than left suspension. Lol.

Re: Suspension Unbalanced

that's because the car is designed balanced with LHD
when convert to RHD the weight shift to right ... hence right is lower
having said that ... don't see this problem happen to merc and audi ... or there is?

Re: Suspension Unbalanced

Which aftermarket is recommended for comfort and traction? Or should stay stock?

Re: Suspension Unbalanced

Let me guess... F10 523i?

It's really weird. I had the same issue. (Search for old thread I posted.)

And as a result your car probably pulls to the left.

Now on 520d... no such problem, or at least... not so obvious until I can tell with my eyes.

There's something unusual about the suspension set up on the F10 523i.

Re: Suspension Unbalanced

Sorry to reply to such an old thread, guys, i'm new here and not sure exactly how things work but i can't seem to post a new thread.

Any F10 owners out there can give me some good advice pls? I just bought a 3.5 yrs F10, and everytime i go over a high hump or carry 3 passengers, chances are i will hit the hump, and i am DAMN irritated.

Is F10 suspension this soft or is mine CHUI liao??

Thanks guys...!

Not normal, but depends on your hump also. If other cars don't hit, then you won't hit unless you are lowered.

Re: Suspension Unbalanced

Thanks for quick responses guys... i know this doesn't sound normal, but yet i don't hit every hump. so i'm just wondering, is it a F10 problem that the suspension system is softer than others?

Any F10 drivers can share their experience pls?

Re: Suspension Unbalanced

I have the same problem too. Got a second one hand 3.5 year in 2014. It's 4 years old now. Some humps got hit, some humps don't.
