Super charger for M40 (318i) engine???

The engine swap may well be cheaper esp for older engines. Fuel consumption should be better too.

If there is no SC kit available for your car, then there will be a mandatory large time investment to go custom SC. I am almost certain the costs will be higher than an engine swap. With complexity comes opportunity for mechanics/tuners to cut throats unless you take control by gathering the necessary knowledge, which will take even more time.

You may want to keep your mod plans a bit more private by posting in the members folder instead.

Cheers

thanx for the tip..:p.. (still pending approval for entry into members' area..:p..)

though well aware of the difficulty esp in our tiny little motor industry... have encountered chaps in the apst who somehow have no idea where an engine oil sump is...before u *point* it out to them that is...:p wonder what would've been their respone if i mentioned like fuel rail...

pls...no digs about engine swaps...:)..not right now.. no dosh..

any advice is appreciated man..:).

cheers!

Shaun is right.... I would supposed a stroker is cheaper for you since i am sure u engine will just give way the moment it's SCed !!!

It's like 80 year old man on viagra !!! U just gonna kill him....

Ur high consumption is a clear sign that the engine needs attention, do a proper overhaul and I'm sure the consumption and power will improve, then think about stroking it at the same time or SC later.....

hahhah..i see what u mean..:p..i'll be sending the car to the workshop for a workover this weekend...hopefully it'll put everything back in order..:)

as for the SC /stroking.. yeah.. thats a mid-term plan..:)..not immediate for implementation..at least until i sort out the engine/suspension...

thanx for ur advice guys...appreciate it esp since u uys have more experience with this car than i have..:p

cheers!

piggyboyz,

1) Do you know how many 80 year old and over out there are enjoying Viagra??? They're probably having better sex than most of us younger lads man!

2) And dont make a joke out of 80 year olds taking it. Do you know that almost half of the male population over 30 are having some form of sexual problem? Erectile dysfunction, poor libido, premature ejaculation... you name it , you have it .... Imagine, how many members in BMWSG we have are male and above 30? Now imagine half of us usually happy, swanky looking, confident , talk-big kinda guys are actually quietly having some MAN problem..... hehe..... phui!

Nothing in life is as it seems my fren....

Arsony
Topaz Blue NOT confident...

those stats apply to the general public, but I think we all know that driving a BMW is an instant cure-all for those problems. :laughlik:
