STP fuel system cleaner. (Mini review)

Hi all,

Recently my dad just passed me a whole bottle of STP Fuel system cleaner...

Tried it out on a very empty tank + v-power, and I must say, i can definitely feel there's a difference in terms of engine smoothness and reaction. Engine feels smoother and acceleration feels nicer too.

While I won't say there's any gain in horsepower, what i felt like, was pretty much like how I got the car on the first day. My ride has 46k on it, and it definitely feels a little more peppy now.

Heard it retails for 19.99, and i thought for sure, i'd buy a bottle every 2-3 months to clean out the fuel system.

Anyone else has experience with this? I know for sure it's not some placebo effect.

ya tried them all b4..they seem to work..but i hv also read that they r not good for engine etc...so i still dunno the answers to these fuel additives..

mmm...

have been using this for as long as i can remember. and i'm happy to vouch for its efficacy.

one thing to note - you can only use it at max 3x per year, as written on the instructions. don't know what will happen if you use it more often, but i'm not going to be the one trying.

so ryan, pls note... cannot use every 2-3 months... mebbe it's a mild corrosive?

Ethanol blend fuel works well for cleaning as well. Except, must change fuel filter every year, but, have to do that anyway even on regular fuel
Is there Ethanol blend fuel in Singapore yet?

I think the chemicals used in the cleaners affects the engine oil, hence its not recommended to use often. Blow-bys in the engine causes the chemical to be mixed with engine oil.
