Hi

About 80K on my obo.

Changed my rear disc pad.

Morning b4 drive off or when the car is cold. Or drive off after work. Put to D and let the car roll. below 10-20km/h. The rear wheel will give sneak sneak sound. Speed above ok.

Went to workshop 2 times. the sound dun come..... jack up. turn rear wheel by hand no sound.

Workshop told me if there still sound in morning. Step the brake few times. After the sound gone.

So now like link to the brake. Rear brake piston jam a bit? or?

Any expert can advise?

Thank you.

A friend of mine had noise problem when cold and PML diagnosed and found out that it came from the rim! Seens that my friend changed tyre outside and did something to his original 19" rims and that caused the noise. PML managed to get BMW to give some warranty so he paid a fraction of the cost of new set of rims (staggered) and the noise is gone!!

I hv the same sound (like honking of a goose) 1st time I apply the brake on wet morning rolling downhill. Life return to normal after that. No big deal.

I believe the brakes need to be warmed up, which is why most of the sounds come when you first cold start the car & if you were to break lightly. I personally have no issues like any of these on my current F30 though.

Mmm.... Dun know y. The workshop loosen the rim nut and retighten with torque wrench and the noise is lesser....

Still do hear the sound on and off. But lesser. Apply brake a bit then sound gone..... Need to service the brake?

My Rim is original 18" sport line rim.
