have u guys ever had this feeling with your car?

some days...i feel like my car has lots of power...monstrous accelration...wonderful sound...superb cornering traction...

and on some days..it feels like a truck...xtremely retarded...slow pick up...poor throttle response...

i try to discount the weather, full tank, xtra passenger...

wot else can it be? a/c on? ok most of the good days i hv the windows down...
or is it the ECU?

i have had this feeling wif every car i hv owned...something i cant pin point..
can u guys share? basically is it me or the car..else wot other factors?

I think u have car PMS. I.e. driver mood swing . To me, the car only perfoms differently in cold and hot weather.

i know the hot n cold weather thing...but i hv discounted that....sometimes even on cold nights...i feel sluggish....not only with current car...i repeat.

i suspect ECU? sleepy ?

someone else drives your car? the ecu adapts to driving style ... so if someone else drives your car like a kunang, she will runs like a kunang ...

no leh i m the only one driving the car....but yes sometimes i can drive like guniang one whole week..n then when i wanna floor it...it becomes guniang...macham hot day driving..even in evenings.

I also experience this. Sometimes, the car is extremely responsive; other times, it's sluggish and unwilling to shift down gears when I step hard on accelerator. Nobody else drives my car.

I don't knwo real cause, but just attribute this to the adaptive steptronic program. I always have to go easy on accelerator when driving to work - too much traffic.

For me, juz sports mode the bugger when I want a spirited drive. Car has not disappointed me when I need it to dance.

Call me a weirdo, whatever, but I believe that the car has its moodswings. It will sound as if it has a life on its own, although logic prevails that it is a mere machine. Some old bird in this forum ever told me not to complain about a car before you sell it. Else the car will give lots of problems - akin to throwing tantrum.

Okay, seriously, science and physics override.

But I will still love my car as if it is a pet.

toto, talks about mood swing... yes just this morning my car is more lively than other days.. and i took a glance at the outside temp read out and it says 29 deg C darn it wasn't that cool. maybe it's the darn AGS! maybe should drive a manual for a change!

i have the same sentiments! seriously there were times whereby i was surprised by the immediate response and bad times where the car demostrated its reluctance to move.. like what u hv mentioned about discounting those factors.. just dun know why. nw my car is sick.. drinking too much petrol recently.. the driver is also sick, down with bird flu.. car sick driver oso sick.. hmm..

dont think ur the only guy that feels like that la... after trips to-and-back from KL... car usually very responsive for the next 1-2 days back in sing then... back to the old psyco thingy again...

i agree n can only conclude that my car just adjust itself to me eventually... when u drive like a puss ur car also behaves lethargically (especially when the half was driving it previously) ... n when u try to drive it hard then it will somehow adjusts itself later to suit ur aggression...

hence...:whatthe: ur car recognises ur driving style??!!!

wish my car like the new F430... with the different driving modes selection... haha!!!

Totoseow I believe you. 2 attributes that I came up with:

1. When you love your car on that day, it will perform well for you. Heard of stories whereby people loving take care of their ride and it gave them no problems, but after selling it, car break down on new owners. Its all about love, just like how your girlfriend treats you reciprocately.

2. Petrol. I like to believe that sometimes when ride is not sounding as per normal, something is wrong with the petrol. There are variances in the petrol despite what they tell you about QC, its all the additives. Sometimes, maybe the car has a tummy ache from the wrong petrol?

hmmm petrol. i always use vpower..never mix...will vpower vary? different batches different amt of octane maybe? ok so far we isloate it to ecu....air temperature, petrol...anything else? i refuse to believe its drivers moods. last nite i felt like smashing it into a longkang..but this morning..phew...sweeet...

i shall try singing to it tonite....

it's not wot exhaust but wot diameter to begin with?
only stock exhaust will work, the rest will cause the car to yawn...
