Something to share: Pictures at Destination on Idrive Navi

Dear bros... This is something I uncovered upon activation of my BMW Online portal in the Idrive. I downloaded an application called "Pictures at Destination" via ConnectedDrive. When I fiddle around with my Navi, I discovered that this app appeared and is fully functional via the Idrive Navi. Any data transferred is via my bluetooth connection to my phone.

Below are the pics showing the function of "Pictures at Destination". Essentially it is a linkup with Google maps and Google Streetview. This is to allow the driver to have a map view of his destination and also the streetview should he want to view it before starting off his journey. I think this is a very cool function and our iDrive is essentially a mini lap top!

The destination search is a clinic in Mt Elizabeth Medical Centre...

Nope. You need BMW Online / Connected iDrive found on UK PI cars with Professional Sat Nav

See this thread

http://www.bmw-sg.com/forums/6-series-owners/66313-something-share-bmw-online.html

Soundwerkz I believe has some options for activating this or at least some of the features

Bro Wobbles you may want to call Kelvin

UK PI cars also have Traffic Info:

No experience with this:

Maybe some of the other bros have checked them out

No. It is through the 3G internet data link. For me its through my iPhone via Bluetooth

The nice thing is the integtration of Google Local search and the Sat Nav system.

You can also see pictures of your destination

Re: Something to share: Pictures at Destination on Idrive Navi

ok. that's samlambo ask that requires a phone in order for it to work assuming not plugging in a sim car into the idrive
thanks

Re: Something to share: Pictures at Destination on Idrive Navi

Why not get dual sim rather than relying on phone?

I think you can but you need a SIM card plug in device or a second phone to leave in the car.

Not sure where to get this SIM card device. Anybody know?
