For bmw, as we turn off the ignition, all lights will be completely turn off as well automatically. Lights refer to headlamp, tail lamp drl etc. but What puzzle me is that I have seen many c class, the previous version one had the car parked and the signal lamp not turned off. Yesterday parked beside me even better. The new e class has its drl and rear lamp still on and one side of the drl is gone. I thought this only happens to older car esp jap car.

some systems have a timer to prevent hid bulbs from switching off immediately...read somewhere those who on and off their hid before 60 secs risk damaging the bulbs that's why sometimes u see some cars enter tunnel the lights will on for awhile before switching off after existing tunnel.

Those workshops like to turn on and off ur headlights to "test" when working on the car...gd luck.

When you talking about the delay in drl and angel eyes turning off after car is locked, that is called Courtesy light or Home light function in different models. The duration which its kept on after car is locked can be pre set.

But if you talking about one side drl or angel eye and rear driving light still on after car have been locked for some time, that is called Parking Light which i think is standard for many European cars. You try giving your signal stalk a thug (as if you turning left or right) after engine is off and see it yourself.
