well, i don't really know where i should post this and i search and search i still can't find the answer i am looking for. so here it goes and hope someone can help:

1) how much is a 320i now? i heard people say change 4 brake pads costs $1k? and do what aircon compressor and related stuff cost $4k? no joke?!?!?
2) how much does the servicing costs for say 10k and 20k?
3) are there reliable workshops outside that can service the E90 or E46 instead of the notorious PML?

thanks.....:)

Re: some newbie questions

i can only answer question 3... you can go to Juzz4Cars or BVO for your servicing after your warranty, and i feel that their services are really very good or should i say better den PML..

as for maybe question 2, depends on what you really change during the service... i changed my engine oil to racing oil, stock spark plugs to iridium spark plugs, and air filter also changed to Hurricane..

really see where u wana go for your ride...

Re: some newbie questions

For question 2, regular bmw service interval is at 25,000km, so servicing costs for say 10k and 20k is $0
But some of the people here dont believe is such a long interval and change their engine oil else where and i believe that it is not that expensive.
For me, running the car all the way till the 25k mark not a problem at all.

And for brake pad change, i did mine few months back at PML together with the regular oil change and its in the $600-700 range.

Re: some newbie questions

let me answer question 1 then.

brake pads are quite cheap if u got to juzz for cars or bvo. plus labour shld be 200 plus or less. brake disc are another 300 plus but they are require less replacement compared to brake pads. a thing to note is that brake sensors are not replaced, if you go to pml they will change brake sensors and charged it to you. pml parts are not too expensive, but labour will kill you.

why you change air con compressor? leave it alone unless it is spoilt. it is not a wear and tear item.

which 320i? new or e46?

Re: some newbie questions
