desertfox is smart changing oil at 5k, but his oil choice not so smart

all this has been covered before. For me, from new, i would change after 1k, thats just me. then at 5k, then every 10k after that.

running in is for grandma.

I drove a new E60 523i from PML and I notice the humming during idle and parking too.. on the it is a new car with only 555km on the clock

Could be the electric water pump you hear there. Sometimes, it stays on for a few seconds even after then engine is turned off. Its a feature of the N52 engine, which a normal belt driven water pump cannot do. The humming sound seems to come from behind the dash area.

I have about 4 pages of stuff PML had to rectify my engine . PM me if u are interested. Had to pay for change of engine oil and servicing.. ard 570SGD n rest was covered under warranty.
