Hi Bro
Need some advice here. Any of you bros ever encounter when in morning after starting the car and driving off, the first and second gear change seems like no power. 520i is only 11/2 year old. after car warm up, this is not so obvious. No problem until recently. Thanks in advance

Assume makes an ass out of u & me.

Re: Sluggy Power in the morning

Thanks for all the advices. Service only recently done and Munich has a new package for engine flush cost @$135. Done that and don't know whether this is the cause for this problem. At first they suspect the thermostat for the cooling fan that is malfunctioning as the second fan tends to on before the engine is too hot. That changed and problem not solved. Still monitoring but still find that the problem exist on in the morning when the engine is cold, Maybe should leave the car overnight at Munich for them to test in the morning.

Don't even need to assume.

If it is really a 1.5 years old 520i, it MUST be n20.

WHY? Let me explain it.

e60 520i was discontinued long long ago...2010 already change to f10 liao, but only 523i, no 4 pot 520i. It was only until later 2011 that 520i came back again, with the n20. There is another 520i f10 with a 1.6L engine, but only for selected market. However, the catch is that this 1.6L 520i was not available till much later, like 2013?

So, unless someone is kum lan enough to use a 90k coe to register a YOM2009 520i in 2012...

Re: Sluggy Power in the morning

Maybe engine retarding timing till it's warmed up.

Ask them to clear the adaptations and see if there is a diff .........

I assume spark plug / air filter changed during servicing ?
