Sign for Speed Traps

hi guys,

its been a while since the TP announced that they would place signs to warn motorists about their speed traps, but till now, i've yet to see one.

can someone who has seen it tell me about what it looks like?

Me too haven't seen one. BTW the new speed limit on Upper Bukit Timah is 60KM/h ?

yes it has been raised. good stuff, glad they're listening to feedback from the public... now if they'll just give us a free hand wrt modding...

eh... TP does tell you where the trap is... that is when you receive the summon in your mail box...

All they do is tell you police operation is effect when you on the highway lah... it will be broadcasted to all those screens overhanging the highway... thats all.. the rest you have to check every tree along the road liao lor...

yeah, they shld be referring to the EMAS signs on the expressways...

If I remember reading the report correectly, its that they will consider giving motorist warning before speed trap only. They did not say that they will give warning.

The other thing that they mentioned is that they will not hide and shoot. Day time traffic will wear white uniform and nite time they will wear white uniform with green vest...and they will post on their site which roads they will be setting up the mobile cam.

So...brudders....please keep to the speed limit yet...cos they ain't giving any warning yet.

I just noticed a sign (blue with white wordings) mounted on a lamp post that said "Speed Check Area" coming down Lornie Rd towards Adam/Farrer Rd...

I can remember another one along Nicol Way (the road next to the runway)

i've not seen the sign for the mobile speed traps, but i did remember seeing the police wearing white in the day ....

i thought i remember reading that they will wear highly visible clothing for the driver's benefit or something...

how many of you guys have got GPS in your vehicle... how about setting up a network where by one person sees it, hits a button ... the GPS updates a server and erm... the rest of us subscribed to it will get that updated on our screens? and we know the pin point location of the speed trap... heheheh...

I can build the software and run the necessary servers for this purpose.

I'm planning to include this into the mobyCar project, so I wonder how many would actually like to have a service like this ....

That would be great, but the efficiency of these system would be on how many people sign up for the moby car project.
