Sachs dampers + Eibach springs combi

Anyone here tested or is currently running on this setup??

Am keen to bin my stock suspension in favour of aftermarket as i find the stock ride too firm and harsh.

Was considering between the above combi or going straight for V3's.

Have never tried the damper & springs combi before, but workshop told me that it will prob provide more comfort than stock and/or V3s.

Comments anyone?

Re: Sachs dampers + Eibach springs combi

imho and personal experience,

damper + spring combi = bilstein b8 + eibach = perfect match but you cannot adjust the ride height (biggest disadvantage)

like ac323 said ... go straight with V3 if cost is not an issue ...

What's your mileage? Consider the possibility that your stock ride is too "firm and harsh" because your shocks are worn out.

Other than coilovers, if your priority is budget and your ride is a daily drive rather than for tracking, you can consider what the bros above recommended or even other combinations eg. B6 + stock springs (around standard height) or B8 + H&R springs (lowered).

Do a search, topics discussed to death. One recent post below...

Re: Sachs dampers + Eibach springs combi

H&R springs = cheap and good but harsh (personal opinion)

Eibach = quite comfy

ACS = awesome but pricey. ACS spring were made by Eibach (not sure whether all springs or specific models only)

that's why i like eibach ... they make awesome springs and yet affordable price

Re: Sachs dampers + Eibach springs combi

Thanks for the many advice bros.

Initially I tot my dampers are worn, mileage is 60k.
Went to PML, chucked the car on the hoist but SA found no signs of leaks or anything out of the ordinary.

Am reading thru the link now. Seems like a a lot of stuff to pour thru.

Never considered bilstiens cos I heard they are usually rather firm and comfort is what Ivan presently seeking...

Still, I will read up on them.

Re: Sachs dampers + Eibach springs combi

What's yr objective in the first place ?

To stiffen yr ride?
To lower yr car?
Tracking?

Don't listen to ac... Hahahha
Am looking for more comfort..

After reading thru multiple forums, seems that bilstien is quite firm when pared to H&R. Read that Koni FSD is pretty good but not available for Z4

Re: Sachs dampers + Eibach springs combi

For Z4, it has to be firm. Otherwise, bua bottom le.

With V3, u can adjust the rebound to be more comfortable.

Z4 too firm... rattles much more.

Re: Sachs dampers + Eibach springs combi

Annoyingly firm but bottoming out is a good point that I need to take into consideration...

Dilemma...
