Roof replacement suggestion

I did not find a good place to take my own roof ventilator, so I took a photo of neighbor (similar house design, similar ventilator). It is small house, contractor suggested me to add one more ventilator. I looked around my neighborhood, most houses have only one ventilator. But contractor said new houses tend to have TWO ventilators, and my roof is not steep enough, and hot air will damage wood. Is it really necessary to add one more ventilator for such a house around DC metro area? How much will it cost to add one more?

Shingles Color: Contractor suggested me to change to black color, my current roof is a little bit on red (dark red since it is old roof). Again, attached photo looks similar to my house, does black shingles look good for such a house?

Shingles lifetime warranty: Contractor said if I don't have plan to sell house anytime soon, use 50 years lifetime warranty shingles, since it only costs $1000 more for material(by comparing to 25 years lifetime shingles). Labor costs are same. I am not doubting 50 years lifetime warranty of AMI Roofing Contractors, my question is can plywood really last more than another 50 years. It is not new plywood. The house was built in 1960s, there could be some roof leaking, a few pieces of plywood had been replaced during roof repair process (done by previous house owner).
