galant1688,
A ride on 17in is clearly more comfortable and acceleration is surely faster too. Also the rims and tyres are cheaper. Fuel consumption is probably a tad lower...
In the look department however, it's not as good looking as the 18in and believe me, u will one day regret one...as I think 18in is more likelty to be a better compromise overall..Also IMO, I find bigger wheels will give you better road feel and sharper steering feedback.
Having said that, go for a lighter rims if u choose 18in..No need to be forged as they are very expensive but if I were u, I would go BBS rims for such upgrade...
Bearing in mind also that there are tyres made for greater level of comfort at the same time not compromising on handling and performance. There are also quieter ones...all sorts of traits u can look out for..
Brands such as Pirelli, Michelin, Bridgestone, Yokohama, Continental spring to mind but let me warn u, the prices of the european tyres are pretty high due to the recent strong appreciation in the euro.
And of course, within each brand, there are different kinds of tyres (ultra high performance type, low noise type, high comfort type etc )
Any more question, dont hesitate to ask
Cheers
Any one here can share and recommend which rim size (17" or 18") should I go for and the pros + cons?
