notice the K&N filter on the right air intake...... exposed like that, wont that be a concern when it rains? or some ass with a knife or an asshole with a thieving record?

hi, that k&n filter in the pic has a 'precharger' sock.. shud be enough to avoid the filter from getting wet from water sprays. u shud go with 'drycharger' sock (used in water motorsports like jetski n powerboat).. they are pre-treated to be water-repellent.. shud be good for heavy splashes.. but reacebred is right, just be extra careful n avoid hydrolocking the engine.. hehe.. hope this helps..

There is no way a puddle of water splashes or even a soaked wet filter can hydrolock the engine. Only when the filter end is totally submerge in water will cause hydrolock.

What most ppl encounter when hitting a puddle of water or soaked wet filter is engine stalling. This is because the MAF sensor is either short circuited or has water droplets on the filament which cause malfunction. If this happens, juz unplug the MAF sensor wiring socket, restart and drive on. You still get power as before but juz running a richer fuel mixture.

Hope all is not paranoid about low exposed filter. Just be careful of floods thats all.

Cheers!
