Retrofit of M5 mirrors on E60

I have recently fitted on an original set of M5 side mirrors and have discovered that the auto dimming feature on both the side mirrors do not work anymore. Also the LED surrounding light at the bottom of the side mirror is not working. I have checked that all possible wires which came with the original mirrors have been connected but it still does not work.

Has anyone who has installed the M5 mirrors on an E60 523i had similar problems? Any possible solutions? Does any re-coding need to be done before the auto dimming feature and the surrounding light can work?

you didn't retrofit it in PML right? Need to do coding.

u mean the LED lights on the mirror suddenly don't work, or after fitting the m5 mirror, it never worked?

i had mine fitted at mike swc, lights and auto dimming works. no recoding needed leh. (ie didnt have to go back pml)

I did not do mine at PML nor at Mike's. When fitted, the LED lights just did not work. Only the folding feature worked. Just got further confirmation that re-coding needs to be done. Apparently no extra wiring needs to be done. Its all a matter of coding. So looks like need to get coding done at PML.

I had mine sprayed and installed at Yew Lip for a very reasonable price but had to do re-coding at PML in order for the surrounding LED lights to work. That cost $70.
