Re: Renting a BMW for personal use

Im adding new mods to the car to make it even pimped.... most prob if i rent him, after costs and risks and mods, i would perhaps consider renting him at 3000 per month with a 3 year contract permanent

Re: Renting a BMW for personal use

1 door and 1 seat - rental should be much cheaper right?

Re: Renting a BMW for personal use

darryl,

I think you are better off trying a different brand with that budget. i don't think even renting the COE BMW will get you that kind of rate. Private rental has risks, nobody will let you take over their car at the same rate they are paying for it.

Don't forget the poor FC of an old car and all the repairs you may have to bear.

If a BMW is a must, you can consider:
Used BMW 318i Car for Sale in Singapore, Lake View Credit - sgCarMart

65% of PARF is $26K so you are paying 20K for 2 years' of use. Bargain abit and you should be able to reduce it to 18K/2 years or 9k/yr. Add road tax, inspection, servicing and insurance it works out near $1500.

Good luck.

for a 1 year term i think you are better off either enrolling in a car sharing scheme or buying a 2002/2003 car than renting.

rental really is a risky business. if the returns aren't good, people usually won't do. e.g.
what if you don't pay the rent on time?
what if you crash the car and affect the renter's NCD/future premiums?
what about traffic offences?
what if you drove the car to M'sia and crashed it and never return?
:yikess:

you may think i am :screwedu:, but these are facts of car rental!

hahaha...I'm beginning to enjoy this forum! You guys seem like a bunch of fun ppl! I can't believe I'm spending time reading these comments individually but I did it anyway. Darryl, the budget you gave is meant as a joke right or do u seriously mean it?

Re: Renting a BMW for personal use

Hi Darryl,

For even a 3series 08, rental is at minimum $2500 per mth already, I am quoting car rental companies, unless you are okay with this amount.

With your budget maxed at $1300 perhaps you can purchase an 06 to 08 3 series.

A humble 06 Nissan Sunny was leased for S$850/mth..

S$750/mth for a BMW or VMW ? Cannot make it for that deal. My friend on a leasing contract of a 05, BMW 320 for S$1500/mth..He has been driving it for almost one year already:screwedu:

Any idea if which model is your friend driving? is it E90 or E46? If it's the E90 maybe you can pm where to find such deal. Thanks

Re: Renting a BMW for personal use

It is a E90. The deal he had with the leasing company was one year ago..The lease should be expiring by this coming Dec. I overheard that they might want to increase the leasing to S$1800.00 due to high running cost , etc
