Rattling Steering- what's the cause?

Recently noticed that the steering rattles (clacking sort of sound) when going slowly over cobbled stone surface ( at one condo). Wondering if there is a steering bush in E46 or anything else that is causing the problem. Anyone else encountered this problem? TIA

Hi bro
Did u manage to sole this problem?
I have been facing this problem and its getting from bad to worst.
Was told its the steering rack but have yet to go for a 2nd opinion.

Check the undercarriage.

One of the bushing has decided to call it a day.

Either the control arm bushing, steering tie rod or even the shock absorber top mount.

I replaced mine about 3 months back and it's back to new...
