Query on wheels

So I have gotten my COE for my new X1 sdrive 20i and will be collecting my car next week. I am thinking of driving straight to the tire shop to get the RFTs and rims replaced with a set of normal wheels.

I would like to get some suggestions on what type of wheels to get. Its going to be my first SUV/SAV type vehicle (after driving 2 door coupes for the last 5 years), so i am not sure what will look good on an suv. I'm a big fan of the breyton Race GTS, but they may not look good on the SUV, and its a bit too common nowadays. So here goes:

1. What wheels to get? Brand, type and colour? My car is Black on Red.

2. 19" or 20" for the X1 drive 20?

3. Staggered or not?

4. What tyres?

my budget is less than 4K.

X1 on 19"/20" is fine, but $4K a tad too little for the wheels/tyres combo, I am afraid.

You need to check on the kind of tyres you wanna use on your SUV, cause you might not wanna use street tyres on a SUV. Only you know what kind of usage your ride will be subjected to.

No need staggered width on your SUV but can stagger offsets.

Think shouldnt go any bigger than 19" for your X1 unless you going to lower your ride. $4k you can probably get replica rims unless you go 18". In fact I feel that 18" is perfect for our ride if not lowering. You have already seen the photos of my 19" on xbimmer forum so you can roughly judge yourself

i was quoted a set of 19" race GTS staggered with Potenza RE-001 for 3.6k leh.. can buy? My concern is that the race GTS will not look nice on the x1...

Race gts should be ok so long multi spokes. 5-spoke will not look nice in the x1. but Breytobs are very heavy wheels. It might impact on the FC and acceleration if you are driving the sdrive18i

Yes i am looking to sell the original. PM me if you are keen. Will probably be collecting the car on wed.

As for the rest that are asking for the lobang, i will update you guys again once i have gotten the wheels, later he mis-qouted me. Will get back to you guys on wed.

Meanwhile, I did a chk with Ray S... he recommended 245/19 front and 275/19 rear for staggered setup...

Isnt this too wide??? i was thinking more of 225 and 245 for front/rear....

What u guys think?

i think 225 and 245 is more for 18". My 135i was on 225/18 and 255/18. Those were race GTS-R and 7.5 and 8.5. The 3-series and X1 should be using race gts on 8 and 9" for 19", therefore 245 and 275 sounds about right. Can anyone confirm this?

Thickness and size of rim different. The thicker the tyres, the nicer the looks and handling but heavier steering, slower pickup and higher FC. I think 225 is good enough for X1
