Qns on our E90 stock BMW Professional audio system

Hi,

Looking to explore cheap mod to improve the stock sound of the BMW Professional audio system.

Understand that below the 2 front seat there is 'slot' for 2 woofer to install.

Can our stock unit able to run the 2 woofer without additional amp or wat? Just wiring and connect the woofer?

How about is it able to support 2 tweeter at both side of the front pillar? As usual just by our stock audio unit.

Or any advice pls feel free to spare.

Just looking at ways that stock amp HU can offer and do the necessary add on.
As wat elebest say. Wat BMW or PML didnt give us. Elebest can give back to us.

So just to confirm. stock PML E90. With Professional HU. We only have 4 speaker in the car? 2 on the 2 front door and 2 on the rear deck. No woofer or tweeter is installed right?

Arent the 'tweeter' (not a specific dedicated tweeter) located on the front doors because those speakers are aka 2-way (mid+high)? Isn't the woofer located underneath your 'floorboard'?

Am not very bright here, sotong kinda.

$1200+ can get 1 amp + 2 tweeters + 2 front speakers ... include installation. can check with many audio shop.
this is the most affordable upgrade for stock e90 ... if include change of oem hu to touchscreen should be more expensive

500+ only get 2 tweeters (new) + change the front speakers with < 1% improvement if no amplifier.

BMW OEM Alpine retrofit kit for e90 stock audio system
can choose this one or other aftermarket .... price is around $1200+

for the tweeters installation, can get the pillar trim from stockist that has the tweeter housing. else to save money, just drill a hole and install the tweeters into the existing pillar trim and cover it with tweeter cover.

stock should have 2 x woofer already installed under the seat. you can place your ear there and check it out.
the problem is no amp no kick. once you got a good amp + proper sound insulation ... you can techno boom boom liao

Mmm... went to a site sponsor today to check. If i just add on a pair of front tweeter at the door there. Will it improve quite a bit? The stock HU is able to run the tweeter without any additional amp.

i thought mine stock no under seat woofer. Ok. later i go check and confirm. ha.

Pretty simple to check. Adjust to max bass, put tremble to nothing, adjust all to front, next adjust all to right (feel e bass) and last adjust all to left (feel e bass)... u should feel e bass coming from under.

elebest using the harman kardon tweeter. Its a bit on the high side for me for tweeter option.
And the stock audio is not harmon kardon and just install a pair of harman kardon tweeter feel like not balanced. Or there is cheaper option like bmw oem standard front tweeter available?

Now looking at improving the bass. I read that the next step is to upgrade the rear deck speakers (vibes 4-inch) for GBP 40 (eBay). And an amp is probably required. Anybody with recommendation on this?

slippery slope... for audio best is to do tog as tuning and staging is as impt as the hardware.

Do all at a time will be better. Instead of upgrading one by one...

So one time ... Swee swee audio . with staging will be de best...

Rear speakers dun need unless you are watching a movie as they need surround sound.

If you are just into audio ...Focus more on the front speakers ( tweeter n bass ) and best is to use a aftermarket amp to power them to have a clear and crisps sound

Then upgrade your sub for low frequency bass.....

Head unit plays a part as well
