Protect Paint!

Hi there, how do i protect my new ride to keep it glossy and shine? Understand that some of the bros here after collecting their ride straight away dash down to polish shop to do something to their car. Or is there anything to protect because everytime when i travel NSHW at night and when i reach the place my car is full of dead insects and stones chips in front. Please advice

Thanks!

Re: Protect Paint!

1) Colgan Original Car Bra
2) 3M Clear Bra film
3) For ultimate protection for drives up north... BOTH 1 & 2

Colgan makes arguably one of the best car-bras in market.... requires you to put on and take off each time, cos you'll prob not want to drive with it on everyday... however, somtimes, what can happen is that small grains of sand may get stuck in between the bra, and your paintwork... during higher speed runs... and these grains may scribble on your paintwork... the car bra also has a mesh covering the air-intake openings of front grills, so most bugs won't get thru... it'll cost a few hundred bucks, shipped...

Clear Bras are a film that you stick 'permanently' on your car... on close inspection, of course the film is visible... the film will offer protection to most circumstances of driving, including track driving... except Malaysian B-Road drives... which won't stop the bigger stone-chips from cutting through the film... and given the abuse of such drives, the film will also wind up damaged... 'full frontal protection' inc lamps, will cost over a grand...

Ultimate protection will be using both... cos the film will prevent those small bits that get under the bra... from damaging paintwork...

Re: Protect Paint!

Best is still to use a car bra.

Tedious as it may seem to fit Vinly Car Bra (only a few minutes), U only need to use it when travelling NSHW. Remove the bra once u are back home.

As for Clear Bra, if section of clear bra (pretty costly though) being hit by stone chips, you may have to replace / cut out section to replace a new piece. Otherwise, u will still see chip marks on the clear bra though the paint beneath is protected.

Paint Protection on the other hand helps normal wear and tear on car washes, tree saps, bird droppings but this will not help in stone chips.

Get yourself a separate number plate over the vinly car bra.
In this case, u do not even need to touch on removing the orginal plate and holder underneath the vinly car bra everytime u need to install or remove the bra.

See my ride below.

Just my one cent worth & personal view.
