Regardless of modding taste, style and "to each is own"... this guy is getting spanked for a reason.

Imagine Michael Jackson announces to the world he's white- this is what this guy is doing by saying it's a CSL.

This guy went into e46fanatics and said this is my M3 CSL

If the guy had a carbon roof, full CSL interior, and perhaps original mirrors, and it looked awesome, and he said he modded it to look like a CSL then congrats! The dedication and passion, to research and to detail would warrant a thumbs up.

But if you go in to a forum of experts and people who are so anal about every little detail and you announce something like that is "the" CSL without knowing what a CSL looks like then brace yourself for the flame that will inevitably come.

Yes one man's meat is anothers poison, but dont go around showing your meat and tell them it's kobe beef when actually it's ground beef.

I think there will be no consensus on the topic of modding. Some prefer certain way of modding, some not. Not different from ordering KFC vs MacDonald's. At the end we will still meet in the same Kallang parking lot. Notice all the guys wear different styles? Has anyone do a critical evaluation on our dress sense? Cause it is individual........

As for badging, we have come across many cases. Look at the Mercs on the road - how many are AMG cars? Wow, too many AMGs. I have also encountered a local chap who rebadged his E46 320 to 330. The irony was that he told me he lost a digit "3" and I gladly gave him mine....... LOL. Biggest experience to share was when I joined the Super Import Nite as a contestant. Initial reaction was to laugh at many of the rice cars there. But at the end of the event, I ended up making friends with many of these "rice-boys." All nice people. Changed my mind about judging cars and judging driver altogether. Fugly cars, but could well be a nicest owner you will ever meet. And in this case, Andy's car is not fugly - take away the badges and it is a hawt ride.

If I cannot be bothered to flame a Merc driver for badging an AMG, why would I flame a CSL badger especially when he is a fellow forumer? Go to SWC and you will see a few Yam Pies. Some of them are forumers. But I dun think many of us flame them. Cause we know some of them.......
