Problem with E60 side mirror (Over fold)

Hi,

Recently my passenger side mirror seems to over fold and I am tired of adjusting it every time. I like to know anyone also experience this? Is there any place that can fix the motor problem instead of completely change the whole side mirror?

Please advise.

Bro

U can try repairing the rotor at one of the bmw authorised workshops..if you need names ...just PM me..typically will fix he problem..

Sorry for digging up old thread.

Recently my E66 driver side mirror having issues as well.
Can fold up but cannot open down.
Motor obviously working but seems mechanism stuck somewhere stopping it from opening up.
Wonder if drowning it in WD40 helps?

Called a couple of workshop, all mentioned need to replace motor assembly amounting to about $600.
Anybody has workshop to recommend where i can repair motor instead of replace and its likely cost?
