for warranty purposes e.g in the service booklet. Sometimes Dealers/Buyers want to see that you serviced at a Authorised Dealer for the Mileage. Or if there's a TSB you can show that you serviced at an authorised dealer on a frequent basis so there's no reason why you're denied the part/service etc...
those are the only 2 reasons I can think of now.

yup... changed indeed not sure if its before or after MA came into the BMW market. But not firm answers on how these 2 firms can have the same adoption fees and same policies...
unless the order was given from higher up...

imagine you buy PI (99% cheaper than AD) and when you sell car ... you post 100% FULL AD service record ...
and of coz the crucial part is to kill PI car la with NO support whatsoever ..
AD is critical when you need software upgrade. other than that, outside workshop can provide same service or better

Why will someone want to service at AD when there is no need to? I mean outside workshop you can see exactly what the technician is doing to your car and even follow them step by step...in AD, it is very hard to know what they really do or didn't do...
In AD if something is wrong, only two possible answer for the same problem:
Under warranty=it is normal or we have never seen it before. Nothing we can do.
Out of warranty=need to change the whole thing.
Just go alexander pml, confirm can see the above pattern.

If you come to MA, I can allow you to see us service your BMW if it is what you want. No problem at all. Just let me arrange it. But not as comfortable as the waiting lounge.

i tot it reminds me of MW's 525 aircon prob....keke
slow_poke_driver do present a valid point...even outside workshop can smoke u if u are not there.
guess end of the day, everyone just wants an honest workshop-driver relationship....no smoke, no chop
hopefully we do not need to have bros banging table in order to get things to get corrected which most workshops or even AD are supposed to do in the 1st place.

Ya me too...just plastic chair will do...Don't need air-con room so can differentiate between M-car and normal car, then more people will buy M-car
