Phillips Light Bulbs

Re: Phillips Light Bulbs

Just to update.
Removed the DVs and installed CVs last week. Now I'm much happier. The colour temp of the CVs, though abit yellowish compared to the blue of DV looks more like the 'original' HID lamps found in cars like the Odessey. The light throw is also much better, almost as good as the factory halogens.

PIAA of course is very bright and white, but it is also illegal as the output wattage is higher then what LTA allows. That's what the guy at Autobacs told me. So I don't dare to put in.

Re: Phillips Light Bulbs

Hi

One of my low beam blown 2 days back, my question are : Can we DIY change a single bulb ? if yes what type to buy so that both will look the same. If I decided to change both, where are the good places to get it done ? Lobang?

I read in some other thread, there is this relay thing for the headlight. what is it for and is it a good to have but not necessary to have ?

very irritating to have the warning beeping everything I start/stop the engine.

Re: Phillips Light Bulbs

LTA now does not care if you decide to change bulbs of diff color temp as long as the bulbs comply with the OEM specs.
I can confirm that BV's are definitely approved - got letter from LTA stating so, but that was in 2001.

But using PIAA of the 100W variety is definitely not allowed - besides why take the risk the circuitry is not designed for that kind of wattage...

Re: Phillips Light Bulbs

Hi all,
not sure if I'm correct but PIAA bulbs eg. Plasma series, the power consumption still rated at 55W as per OEM specs or thereabouts but claimed intensity equivalent is 100W instead. jus bought a pair yesterday and am very happy with the color temperature - slightly bluish white although rated at 7500K. some other brands or models would be very bluish at that temperature. any other bros care to share?

Re: Phillips Light Bulbs

When u said BV's, do u mean BVO? If yes, which brand and kind are they using?

I was told that the max allowable is 6000k, is that true?

Cheers
