I am using this for the 3rd oil change already. Prefer this more than castrol which I used previously.

Think Pennzoil is now owned by Shell, believe Helix is now blended Pennzoil.

No. I read somewhere before the formula is different even though it is own by shell. I never like shell helix, at least on my previous ride. Engine became very rough only after 5k. But Pennzoil feel smooth till 10k.

Pennzoil Ultra 5W-40 European Full Synthetic Motor Oil

Bmw LL-01 should be ok to try

Bro lkm been using this, seems not bad according to him so far

Last time I used pennzoil was on my Canadian car, pennzoil is a very common brand in across North America.

All oil lube shop carries this brand but almost unheard of her in Singapore

Specs look roughly about the same as Mobil 1 0w40 which is often used as a benchmark.

It's BMW LL-01 approved according to Pennzoil so should be good for our beemers. I've been using it for the past 1yr plus and seem to be good so far! Honestly, I can't quite feel any huge difference, but I'm now at almost 9000km and engine still running smoothly. I've seen their scientific tests on it's cleaning ability and kinda like that. They were even bold enough to make claims that it cleans engines better than certain brands - and went ahead to name the brands too. That says alot about the confidence they have in their product. Else if the claims were outright false, sure kenna sued by those HUGE oil companies one! Plus, US damn litigatious lor!

Re: Pennzoil Ultra 5W-40 European Full Synthetic Motor Oil

Hearsay on the base stock - Mobil is Group 3 while pennzoil is GTL based while Castrol is PAO.

Splitting hair type of properties -

GTL better for FC. PAO better for protection.

The cst @ 100 seems a little rich for bmw specs isn't it?

Personally - For a turbo charged engine is fine.

For NA - Agree with you.

Shell helix osso BMW LL-01 compliant, so there must be some other secret ingredient.

Re: Pennzoil Ultra 5W-40 European Full Synthetic Motor Oil

Chance upon this post so sharing a lobang here

I've purchased Pennzoil Ultra 5W-40 from Amazon before which is a damm good deal!
Includes free shipping to your doorsteps for purchase above USD $125

Price now is around USD$39 per box (Pack of 6 bottles)
Have to buy above USD$125 for free shipping as mentioned but can includes other purchase as well

Tips: Try to choose USD as mode of payment when using credit card payment as exchange rate is better

See below link

Re: Pennzoil Ultra 5W-40 European Full Synthetic Motor Oil

Your purchase price USD39 per box is not the one-time delivery. Should be USD45.42 per carton. which mean had to buy 3 carton to enjoy free shipping. right?
