Hi all, need advise on something me veri new to:

1. Is it possible to fit the 320 OE exhaust to my 318 (with some minor modification)
2. What is the effect?
3. will it affect the timing/performance/etc?
4. Do i need to remap my ecu?
5. where can i go to to buy n install.

Reason: purely aesthetic.

Thanks.

nope.... cause u only have one outlet pipe... the 320 has 2 ... why not just buy a aftermarket one with one outlet pipe with 2 exhaust??... saves u the trouble.. all can be installed under the SG.workshop link above . Jeep chee and Fong Kim being the 2 familliar ones... or u can try Man Exhaust too.. hope this helps.

Can.

I am on this set-up right now. Need to create a Y joint and you're good to go. MAN Exhaust did mine.

Effect: mid to high end revs and pulls better. Sounds slightly better too.

You will feel a very slight loss in low-end though. But I got my back with Volker Plugs

No need to remap ECU, just give it a few days for the ECU to adjust accordingly to the new muffler

PML or any other bros here who wish to change to after market exhaust.

CHeers!

Bro I am driving a E36 318. I just modified mine with a E46 318 exhaust. I gained more pick up and good sound too. No harm in trying it out what. The 320 exhaust comes with 2 tail pipes not 2 exhausts! So I guess it can be modified.

Re: OEM 320 exhaust usable on 318valvetronic?

The E46 320 M54 runs 2 pipes from the headers all to way to the tail pipe. Depending on your year of manufacture, some exhaust systems join at the CAT in a single casing (but with 2 individual CATs inside) while the later models run individual pieces. You can fit the rear box of the e46 320 to a 318 and just fabricate a 'Y' joint to link both pipes to your center resonator. That will work.

Cheers
