Btw... Just saw that Giant having sale on Mobil 1. $14.99.

The Helix I bought was $28.80... That's almost double!

To compare... are the specs for the oil the same?

Yes, same specs. 5W40. In fact the full range of Mobil 1 going at $14.99.

Thanks! Had a good read and understand that I misunderstood. I didn't take note of that... just looked at viscosity. Will go check out.

Read more about the ATF stuff from other sites as well and now kinda unsure....damn. 125k mileage and not sure if the previous owner ever did do an ATF change before... seems risky to do it now.

Just take it as your car has not done any servicing before and start from beginning, since you have no prior service history records. The service mileage in the idrive can be reset without any physical change of EO.

Your car, your decision.

How about this to make it more complicated - what if previous owner did change but did not use lg6 but some lube from dunno where ? You might be saving your GB.

Another thing is you might want to see if the egs got complain about any minor errors etc. The minor ones egs complain about would not show on your dash like cf2b etc.

Basically go poke around the ride, get the stats and then decide. No point worry here or there.
