just copped myself one e60 this weekend and collecting next wed/thurs

gonna shop for new rims this week. any intro?

Hi Bryan.

E60 is an excellent choice!
which variant and which year?

Lots of mods to choose from, other than rims! haha.

for rims, you need to research and shop before u commit,
you need to know what u want first.

so in this order....

what size? e60 is huge, so anything >19'' looks small.
what type? do u dig deep dish?

or do u want rims with spokes that flare out to the edge of the rims?

forged? this determines the weight of your rims, lighter means better fuel consumption, but it comes with a premium.

price - branded rims like DPE, HRE cost an arm and a leg. but can be customised to every detail.

last but not least, ensure that the offset of the rims suit your car, lest it looks like a taxi, with sunken in rims.
e60 requires minimum offset of ET20. (the lesser the number, the more pushed out will be the rims, hence more aggressive)

best to see real life examples so you can guage.
we have an active bunch of e60 owners here (though a handful has changed rides to F10), and we still meet up often for kopi.

we've been at FEP for many years... i think coming 6 years. my shop is at #03-126 but i am not there usually. my partner sam runs the store drop by to say hi to him also can...

how much would the first BBS chrome rims cost? is there an alternate choice for replicas?

my budget would be $3k. and can i trade in the stock rims? whats the value like for stock rims.?

and yes i def. dig deep dish. the offset part sounds very complicated to me. how should i tell the rim dealer? thinking of dropping by leong seng. is it good?

lets hang out soon after i get my car . lots of advice needed from you guys.
