Re: New MX5 and Mz6 MPS

What's the Mz6 MPS? some kind of souped up 6?

Re: New MX5 and Mz6 MPS

Bro... rofy74

We want pix... We want specs...

I've heard of the MPS before. 2.3L turbo monster with 4WD and some trick center diff. Supposed to be a wrx and evo challenger.

Re: New MX5 and Mz6 MPS

Not really Evo/STI class.. more like Legacy GT, IMHO.

Re: New MX5 and Mz6 MPS

GP, thanks for the pics. The interior quite chio I must say. The external looks kinda similar to the current 6 except slight changes to the front and rear lites and oh yes, let's not forget that huge airdam in front.

Re: New MX5 and Mz6 MPS

The MPS is supposed to produce 250-280hp and 350NM of torque. With a manual gearbox, should be a real hoot.

Thanks!
Still manual fold hood, but they make it much easier to open/close with a single catch (instead of 2 catches for last gen). Instead of the hood (last gen Miata)being pulled over to close (which may be slightly heavy especially for ladies), the hood now is changed to a "pull forward" motion (frame mechanism changed to a "Z" type of frame - resulting in much less weight being felt). Also no separate tonneau cover as compared to the previous gen.

You shld see how the sunshade visors are being incorporated into the top of the windscreen, very streamlined and flushed.

Cool, I believe the additional weight of an auto hood might have compromised the balance.
