Hello? Ti500.4 -$2200??? Go www.sounddomain.com and check you can get it for USD$339. I'm using my PG 475Ti to drive my sub and rear channel speakers.
My advise buy your amps elsewhere. If you're gonna get the PG speakers you might want to consider the Dynaudio 240GTs now they are going for $550 at Konceptz Audio as their opening sale special.

spawn80,

saw your post in the ICE Forum, i think its pretty clear u should consider other brands.

$2100 for components, and your budget...wa, u can really really get good stuff man. Unless u are a hardcore ICE fella, which i guess u are not, then perhaps u dont need to spend so much. Some people can tell whether a guitar sounds real, tight etc..

i also suspect u drive a 6 series...the installer see , and went "ho say liao" haha.... 500.4 for $2200 ? For that kinda of power, u dont need $2200.

your qn also suggest u already have a sub ? else u want a monoblock for ?

be careful wat u read in the ice forum, there are many installers around. First decide on a budget, be honest about your level of interest in ICE cos it can get very very expensive. A DIY "sifu" always warned me....start slow, so that u know where your money goes to. U may spend $10k at wrong installer, same as spending $2000 at good installer.

Phoenix gold is a good amp, I'm using 1 myself. Pricing depends on range, but 2K+ can get some close to high end stuffs.

But I'll keep clear of .......this don't know what place. I recalled some guys I know did not have good experience, as they've shared.

I think you should visit Hong Guan or JM Audio their prices are much more reasonable.

Care to share some feedback for your amp?
wat series is yours?
Dun thnk i will be patronizing their place...

Hi Spawn80, no doubt phoenix Gold is a good amp, but wif that price range I wld suggest u go check out an amp name Steg which I feel is equally good or even better n lower cost.

Some of the brudders here instal their ICE system at LD audio which located at Odean Katong shopping centre, you may wanna to check them out urself. I believe they're able to get for you the Phoenix Gold system as well

spawn80,

$12 k ??? U can build an entertainment City in your car !!
dont get the wrong idea, and no intention of being rude, but i would like to ask first, are u a hardcore discerning ICE person ? Are u one who can tell the difference between a 5k setup and a 12k setup ?

If not, i may jus suggest the following, assuming u only have stock in your current car.

1. Headunit (source of your signal, very impt) ($1k shud be enuf)
2. front components ( $1k shoud be very enuf)
3. Subwoofer 12". ($500 with box shud be enuf)
4. two amps. (i think $1.5k can get u two very good amps already, like the Orion 4002.)

Budget about $600 for installation. If u dont wanna change headunit its also alright but its better to have a processor. Dont take pre-amp.

alot of award winning DIY people dont even spend 12k. If u walk into a shop saying u got a 12k budget, they will laugh all the way to the bank i think. Actually, budget about 3k..shud be good enough.

i m reluctant to mention names in the public...private msg me, i can share abit more.

My model is something like ZX500. It's an earlier series, white body. The latest ones I think is silver colour. 2 channel, powerful enough for sub woofer application. I'm using it for front the 6.5" DLS UR6 iridium driver application. Warm vocals fill my front windscreen & mid bass is simply punchy.

whoa! 12K budget?!!!

hey but seriously, since $ is not a problem for you, take your time.
not all 'good' speakers are best for you... each speaker has different response, because they are built this way. Some are meant to kick, like for playing techno music, and some are better off playing classics, w good clean response, but not necessarily fantastic power.

But if your cup of tea is jazz, then too bad, u really gotta find a good compromise, as jazz puts such range to the extreme.

so take ur time, listen to people's setup with YOUR favorite discs...
happy spending 12K ... think i'll start a business, just to earn your 12K :inlove:

hey by the way, forgot to mention that the amps... if you want a long relationship with your amps... go for something Japanese... they stay the same longer. So though they are probably not the best, nor the best value, they'll please you for longer. e.g. Alpine.

If you are prepared to change amps every 1 or 2 years, buy as good as you can afford. Just check the specs that they match the speaker response that you are driving. A good n experienced installer shud be able to advise you based on the specs of the speaks vs. amps.

Just stay away fm tubes. they are expensive and just pure novelty, unless you are prepared to wait for 20min warm up to optimum temperature of the tube amps, and hear the sound depreciate in less than 15 min... but dun get me wrong, tubes are great, but not for car application.

still wish i can earn a little of your 12K

actualy 12k... i will spend half on ICe, half on car stuff. I think a lot of research needed to be done before going to an installer, so that u know who is trying to con u, who's not.

Hey Rich, did u change your headunit ?

Hi! Still using my stock in the original stock location, but got a pioneer 9350 to ghost, with full functionality of my steering controls. yeah, and i am one o those whose got huge potential to get sucked into the blackhole... hows ur setup now, oneHeadlight?

i also stock HU, no preamp nothing..but will change my HU. Where did u install your ghost unit...ie where in the car, and which shop ?

i took out my rear speakers to let my 12" sub bass flow nicely thru. Front components Morel Hybrid 6... two 2ch amps. Still very basic but i am also like u...living on the brim of the blackhole. :)
