Michelin PS3 wears faster than PSS

So, recently I bend down(checked my rear before that in case behind got...) to check my wear indicators on my tyres. what was not surprising was the rear tyres on both cars wear off faster than the front - this we know cos BMW is RWD.

What was surprising is the PS3 on my 320i has worn down to about 1mm from the wear indicator, front still quite ok.
However, the PSS mounted on my 335 still has plenty of thread left on the rear, and front too of cos.
Considering that the 335 has more than 3 times the torque than the 320, I was wondering WTF !
I think PS3 wear rate is 320 while PSS is 300....aaaeee....

PSS is supposed to be more durable than PS3. But regardless, do you always fetch people or heavy stuff at the back of the 320?

PSS 300, PS3 320, so in theory, PS3 should last longer but thread depth wise, PSS is deeper than PS3.

most probably on staggered wheels.
not much difference to flip the wheels L to R in that case

Based on neutral reviews (which i love), PSS indeed last longer than PS3, nothing surprising.

The wear rating is just a gauge. With a difference of 20, it should be taken with a pitch of salt... unless u have a rating of 180 compared to 300.

Lastly it still based on many factors such as road surface we travel (terrible condition vs good), frequency of power/torque transfer to ground (degree of 'hard press grip'), load of vehicle on wheels, etc.

On my F10 my PSS still have thread after doing 50000km for 2 years. Around 1.5mm to wear indicator

Maybe different tire pressure, etc? Assume everything equal, as Kenn said, PSS's depth is more. Actual specss are 10/32" vs 9/32" though wear rate is 300 vs 320. I'm on PSS and quite happy with them.

Worn out my rear ps3 in just 35k km, but very good traction dry or wet.

The PSS and the PS3 both last time change at the sametime ?

ok here are some more details.

Both the PS3 n PSS change at about same time.

PS3 is 16inch on the 320. PSS is 19 inch staggered on the 335.
Driving style about the same. Nowadays I drive like guniang. Only when I hear the 2014 budget, when my temperature start to rise, I drive like what a chao ahbeng should be driving like...in which case either car also whack.

Tyre pressure? ps3 square set up F230 R250 kpa. Pss staggered about F240 R 260.

Yes more or less.

Well one hiadee here said maybe the 320 carries more load at the rear. Hmmm well yes and no, its a 4 door car right so naturally sometimes some 'load' will be in the back seats, more so often then the coupe. But I wont say its a lot and very often. I don't have a lot of mei mei s to fetch unlike some veterans here like Kenn.....what Na huh? I suspect the tyre pressure of the PS3 needs to be pumped up to 240 260?

Hearsay wider tyres can last longer, as same load, but spread over larger contact patch.

According to reviews I believe pss does last longer. It has one of the best thread wear for a "performance" tyre. I'm using them on my ride now. Don't need to be put off by the higher price tag as they last longer hence $/km mileage it is actually more value for money
