Hi Nuke,
I've never owned a cabrio, but I reckon the problems that are more unique to cabrios would have to be window leakage and rattling of the roof (soft top) at higher speeds.
Which cabrio are you looking at? The 3-series, Z4 roadster or others?

I owned a E46 318 cabrio b4. Veri nice car to hav. Points to note abt the car:
1) Bits of rattling where the window n top meets is almost like inevitable. If car stil under warranty, bring in to PML n they will add some silicone to it. Problem returns after couple of weeks abt.
2) car is heavy so acceleration will be bad.
No more bad things liao. Topless drivin is fantastic and it grabs lotas attention wif top down. haha.

Hi, Cabs are significantly heavier than the saloon or coupe. Preferably look at the 325 or 330 models which will be less 'sluggish' unless you don't mind having a little less power. All cabs rattle so just listen to your i.c.e. A weak point that I encountered seems to be premature wear of the control arm bush - you can upgrade to polyurethane powerflex bushes. With the top down the feeling is great especially on a cool morning or evening and the plus point of not hearing any rattles! You will learn to avoid being on the right side of a bus. The roof needs a little care ( have to coat with impregnating solution available from pml)but otherwise so far has been excellent. Good luck in finding your cab.
