Hi all, after a hiatus without a BMW for a year, I am looking to purchase a " Strawberry" IL 6 e90 325i as a second car/weekend use.
Given the higher OMV of such car, the depreciation is actually much lower than my previous encounter with the roundel
yes, granted the car is 9 years old and bound to have many wear and tear but I am only gonna have a short " Fling" with the car, thought basic mechanical maintainence would be sufficient for the one year ownership.
anyway, saw a car at BW automobile yesterday
silver with black, comes with Idrive/ sat nav and Xenon headlights
car looks straight and very clean inside
engine bay looks clean with no oil stain
exhaust looks healthy, no blue/green fumes.
upon testing out the car, the familiar heavy weighted E90 steering was apparent. much more heavier than my Merc W212. the brakes a bit sticky... have to press all the way to the floor to feel the grip. Hope is something as simple as a brake pad replacement.. the car comes with a multispokes bmw alloys, cant really see the brake rotors at that time.
Also realise knocking sound on the passenger front end while going through humps. probably some worn out bushes out lower front arm that is gone, but the alingment is still straight. the other thing, is the ride is quite harsh and bumpy for this non sport version. I recall my older 320i E90 was much more compliant on the road than this 325i.
lastly, when accelerate, there seems to be some whining sound and fade away after speed is 30-40kph
is that normal, doesnt feel the same as my previous E60 and F10 523i
Anyway, this is the link to the ad

anyone know the history of this car?
any feedback on the dealer?
i am planning to bring the car in for inspection before making a decision,
but would wanna research more on the things i picked up during the test drive and estimate a cost to fix.
have a good weekend!
