Just to Share: Factory Recall for E90 positive battery cable

Hey guys just want to share this when helping my uncle to send his X1 for servicing, my se informed me that X1 and E90 before 2011 has a factory recall for the positive battery cable.

Reason for the recall is there are complains that there's not enough power to start the car despite healthy battery. Thus they are doing a recall and upgrading to a higher amp cable for the positive battery cable.

Not sure if this has been posted but just want to share since this is a free "upgrade" from PML. Downtime is 4 hours fyi.

You can either call in PML to check or maybe you can pm me your chassis number and I check with my se

They secretly changed for me telling me its for precaution... actually got memo (service/recall bulletin) from bmw germany.

for us 2nd owner of E90 2006. How PML will inform us? Or we need to contact them ourself?

Call PML to inform them the change of owner. Need old registration number if you got a new plate during ur purchase. After that, you can book appointment for the recall works if its not done by previous owner

I used to service my car with PML I'm not sure if they already did the update for me.

When did the real started?

call pml, give them your plate number they will tell you if your car's been ok-ed or not.

Hey Lesliek, thanks for the heads up on the recall. Last Wednesday finally did a change of ownership at PML and asked if my 2009 E90 is involved in any recent recall. 2 days after, PML called and i am now scheduled for this battery cable recall this coming Friday. 4 hours down time as advised.

Otherwise, it should also be at the bottom of your windscreen on the passenger side.
