iPOD Interface Connection Retrofit Kit

Hi,

I was told by someone from the parts dept (PML) that the iPOD Interface Connection Retrofit Kit does not support iPod Touch or iPhone at all

Well if that is the case, then I don't see the point to waste money installing something that will only support older generation ipod. That sux !! So disappointed :verysad:

i think Apple changed something, so accessories manufacturers need to change their hardware design...

Yes it's the iTouch and the iPhone 3G. Doesn't recognize the device when plug in. Might due to the firmware, again idk. Will hold till they hv a solution

any idea if the radio display can support chinese character for E90 Ipod adaptor??

Are u referring to the iDrive (radio display) ? I doubt it can support chinese character tho (6FL w/ ipod w/o iDrive chinese display - BMW 3-Series (E90 E92) Forum - E90Post.com) :uhhh:

I think the only way if u want to control yr iPod thru iDrive or steeling wheel is to install the iPod interface connection retrofit kit. I hv no idea once it's connected, u can still control from yr iPod tho. But since the ipod is stored inside the glove compartment, i doubt

USB drive displays chinese character, I tried it. Change the language to Japanese

Parrot MKi9000 Bluetooth Car Kit
iPhone Car Kit - Nokia - Zimbio

Haven had them installed myself though.

ps- Have not installed them myself yet cos waiting to see if compatible w new iphone in jun. But parrot tech is usually robust. they do alot of OEMs.

Part of the reason i wanted retrofit kit is because it's really neat, no loose cables lying around and besides that i can control directly from the steering. Thx tho
