Insurance Premium E92 M3

wondering if you bros out there with E92 M3s can advise... my bro-in-law got quoted a comprehensive insurance for his newly acquired M3 @ S$9k (0 NCD as he is a foreigner and new in Spore). I advised him to get a couple more quotes to check. But is this the general market? He will be getting only a 3rd party claim one as it will be fully paid for as this is the cheaper option. Is this advisable?

yes, if the M3 is fully paid u can get 3rd party. if is hire purchased, some bank might need the owner to have comprehensive. There is alot of disadvantage on 3rd party insurance for a M3.

wat happen if your own damage & repair is $100K or total due to own fault? is not abt u being safe on road, is who hit you or wat u hit. Singapore road is getting congested, accident rate is shooting up.. listen to radio in peak hour u will know IMHO

What premiums are you guys paying for a 335i coupe? is the premium different from a 335i sedan? I heard 2 doors got more premiums...

I don't know about 335 as my quote is in relation to the M3. I guess it's about the same or slightly lower, maybe the 335 folks can answer you better.

M3 higher market value hence more expensive than a 135i or 335i.

Dan more matured cheaper, some WRX already hitting that kind of premium for young driver... haha..
like hitmee old man his 335i if not wrong only 1.6K with 50% but restricted to any driver above age30.

Paying $2700 ++ inclusive of GST for my 335i Cab. 20% NCD.

The premiums are ridiculous. I paid the same last year with 10%. Premiums went up and I'm not sure why. They just up the premiums as and when they like?

Sime Insurance Broker's rates are quite attractive. $1,147 for comprehensive cover for brand new 335i sedan, after maximum discount.

Not surprising cos M3 might be classified as sport car by insurer, and bearing that BMW logo cost more due to high accident repair cost.
Looking at the Newspaper on 9 Oct09, and you will know why ins. premium was jackup so high becos of those taxi's driver overclaim after an accident. Minor damages on bumper/ headlights demand 18k insurance claim. The best thing is those insurers cannot do anything to stop. They keep talking and talking for a year, and can only come up with 3 stupid steps/ advices (MCF) for us if we get involved in accident. NATO. This is the best talents we have so far. Bear with it bros & sis.

Usually coupes/cabrio command a higher premium if I'm not wrong.
Of course, the turbo-charged cars too.
A sedan 335 may involve lower premium.

Ya...I fully agreed with you...after reading the latest newspaper about the Taxi.
Nowsaday is like that, if you don't open lion mouth to claim the other party, they will OPEN their mouth to eat you back so don't be soft-hearted.

Don't ever hit anyone at the back, they will claim until you 'upside down', especially Taxi, told by my angry friend. Rather turn and hit another car on the side, a least 50-50% fight...but this is true.

My friend poke a Taxi at the back, small dent in the bumper, driver ok BUT later on driver claim for unable to work due to stress because of the accident, must pay him 2-3 days of 'lost of income' + repair +..... My friend can't tahan.

Someone MUST do something, not just sit and listen and as the result, our premium keeps rocket-up...
