Re: In a Picanto for a day.
I drove a picante to Thailand from Singapore before, sharing my experience:
1. encountered a number of road blocks on the way, once they see my car they ask me to move along (I am not going to reveal what was my speed), not to mention what brands of car were stopped
2. Lost in KL when I did a stop over, made an illegal U-turn and a white ant on motorbike came out in the inter-section. A Singapore plate merc was behind me and also made the turn, white ant gave chase I thought this time die. I stop, merc stop - White ant waive me to move off and walk over to the merc.
3. Stopped in Penang for food, parked illegally outside laksa shop. Lots of Singapore car blocking the roads. White ant came, shop owner shouted, Singaporeans all rushed out. 4 motorbike white ants blocked the way. Through this time die - White ant ask me to move off (vehicles such as kelisa - I went with the club to Thailand, meet in penang to move off, kia, smaller cars). As usual, Big Cars were stranded. Kopi time.
4. Reached the thai boarder, Kelisas and Picantos smooth pass through. Saw Big Cars being stopped and questioned. Maybe they didn't put or put enough papers in their passports.
Bottom line, driving in Malaysia, drive a picante better than a Big Car. Save many unnecessary worries on the roads.
