iDrive Freezes

Hi

Does anyone experience iDrive screen freezes? When it hits, no controls will work and at times, it will auto-shut down before coming on again, or switch to radio from other sources, say music playing from the harddisk. Mine's the 09 version not sure but am told it's the latest. Am also told it's a common problem with 335 iDrives, and Porkies cos of the engine heat generated?

If so, any solution to fix it??

hapened this morng when startg my car but the idrive didnt turn on..... restart the car but nothg came up.... siao liao.... dun knw wat could b the probm.

managed to do a hard reset n the idrive came back to life...... dun knw wat is the probm.

So it was dead until u did hard reset? Mine wld usually auto boot-up aft a short while. Wat's ur YOM? How'd u do tat hard reset anyway?

I kinda noticed the freeze happens only when i play from the music collection ie the hard drive for me..

yes... mine is the latest idrive YOM 2010. it was dead silent the entire day... restarting the car jus cant get it up until i did the hard reset. I saw a useful link in 1 of the websites regarding the CIC manual. to reset press the volume button for 20sec n the CIC should restart. Remember to remove ur ipod or other external devices before the reboot. http://www.e90post.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=244402&d=1235851226 pls see pg 71.

Thanks for sharing bro. May not be the solution for me but will try it out nonetheless. Hope u'll be rid of the bugger henceforth
