I use four rubbers at one time......

Yo fellas,

It's time for me; after rotating my rubbers like seow until cannot rotate and until my eyes spin; to get a new set of rubbers! Been using set of Bridgestones S03's non staggered setup on BBS CH 19" and been very happy with their performance. Thinking of trying out new tyres and maybe new setup. Staggered???

So being a sociable forummer, would like to see what are the recommendations of the hardcore brudders here. Thanks in advance ya!?!?

Hi,

I've been using PS2 staggered with my 18 inch wheels. They provide pretty good grip in both dry and wet. My only complains are that they are pretty darn expensive especially for the 255/35/18 rear tires. If you're interested I could give you the contact of the tire shop I bought them from. They give very good prices for PS2s.

Cheers

If you want ultra high performance then it has to be the PS2... of not you might want to try the Goodyear Eagle F1s... good and cheap.

Ash,

In addition to havng to get a new set of 18" rims to run staggered, tyre rotation will also be a problem. So in your case, since you are already on 19", then as what Des said, juz use Eagle F1s. Cheap and good.

Re: I use four rubbers at one time......

Actually when I say staggered, I actually meant the width of rims and tyres. ie back wider than front. Anyway how cheap and good are Eagle F1's? My SO3's are $500/- a piece from SE tyres. Any place to recommend get F1's from?

Hi Ash,

go for Goodyear F1 235 fronts and 265 rears. They don't make 255s, and it will definitely rub at the back even if u roll the fenders... Trust me!

Unless u are on 19x8.5 all round? Then it shouldn't be a problem as the offset is pretty conservative.

Good luck!

Eagle F1 should be less than $400 a pc 235/35/19. I will change to this on my next rubber change.....hehehe

Re: I use four rubbers at one time......

If u guys are getting the Eagle F1, ensure it's the GS-D3 type...This is the one that has V-grooves all the way and I believe it's either made in Jap or Germany (as u normally see from the ads) . There is another type of so called Eagle F1 but it's a mix of straight and small v-grooves.

I hv read the review on this GS-D3 and it's The Best in the Wet especially on the straight. It loses out to SO-3 in the wet cornering.

As for dry performance, it's rated quite average. It lacks straight grooves hence high speed stability isn't impressive.

I have just put on the PS2 and I must say these tires are so damn good in :
1. Dry grip and traction ( very progressive )
2. Comfort
3. One of the lightest around.

The only drawback of this tires is the price
235/35/19 and 265/30/19 cost bout SGD 2,750

Wet traction isn't as good as SO-3 based on my experience
Having said that, however, the treadwear is quite decent..280 I think.

Gd Luck
