Thats true. Tendency to put too much oil after the 1st wash of the K&N filter.

Hi,
Stay away from hurricane if you are lazy to check and clear your filter often.

Mine warp and torn away from the rubber, leaving a 'exposed' area uncovered. NO wonder the car felt so responsive.

After that, when opened to wash, so surprise to see that. All this suspected to be due to heat expansion when the element is dirty.

Wooo ..... sounds bad. Mind me asking how often do you take it out to wash? Cos it was recommended to wash it every 10k km. Or was it really a quality issue?

I use k&n . Used hurricane before...worried to porous .
More k&n more reputable.

go for K&N. i don't like wire mesh as filter.

Used both K&N and Hurricane in two separate rides. Am surprised Hurricane filter is always 'clean' whereas K&N filter traps the dust and dirt. So where does the dust and dirt go to for Hurricane?

About 10000km+, oil change interval.

Anyway, avoid it if you can. K&N is better BUT careful on the oiling.

This is my unhappy experience with them.

actually the diff between both is u wun even notice it so its whether u enjoy oiling something once ina blue moon or avoid hassle..
