Slot it into the fob slot to charge while you on the drive. I charge my fob in this manner. After a few days w/o charge, the cluster screen will prompt you to charge the fob.

Yah, comfort access. The fob is rechargeable.
Think only comfort access fob are rechargeable. Those without have to change battery when battery low.

CA fob battery is NOT rechargable which is why the battery can be changed. the cars which does not have CA has fobs which has internal rechargable batteries which is why the fob must be inserted into the car when driving and this will charge the battery.

If you have changed your battery in your key fob and the car still prompts you for the error, chances that you may have a problem with the sensor in the fob and the key needs to be replaced.

Yes, this is the reason why i ask if TS car have CA.
My 5yr old E60 need to insert fob and battery is rechargable

As for the fault you experiencing now, it could be the receiver in the car or the transmitter in the fob having problem.

I see, I thought CA FOB is rechargeable. That's the reason why i always insert thefob when ever it prompt a "battery figure with +". So it mean I do not need to insert to charge the fob battery since it is not rechargeable? Which mean when battery low, I have to replace the battery?

My 2008 E60 with CA is not rechargeable (fob). I change battery with normal $3 button btty from shops outside. No problem.

Depends on which car... The F30 do not come with any slots for the key... Have to change the entire battery when it's drained.
