my sales rep didnt manage to get my car on friday.. said that couldnt be delivered, but confirmed that i can get it on monday 4pm... i think i shall join you guys for the gathering next month... was abit dissapointed... sigh...:verysad:

shucks, I should have browsed this website more often earlier. Have been consistently going beyond 100km during my first 1000km ! Hopefully didn't cause any "long term injury" to the car.

Jervis - congrats on your new 318 and I am sure you will like it very much! Even though I am not that much of a car person (and know nothing about engines etc.), I find myself more and more in love with my 318 in the last few months since I got it Enjoy!

Frankly, it is not so much of going over 100KM but rather: avoid rev-ving your engine say over 3500-5000 rpm for an extended time. A short burst up and then down to say 2500 rpm is very common. Thus redline to 4500 rpm and above for say 10 or 15 minutes... not too good liao..

The killer is often the extended rpm run than the 100km. Thus, if u keep to 100km and don't over-rev it is practically OK.

I believe this is the logic behind it.

Guess you are enjoying your ride to the max by now. Remember to let it run in first for 1.5k km at least. Try to keep ard 100km and don't rev above 3500 if you can resist. Frankly, once in a short while is unavoidable..... but try to minimise these incidents....lol

Hey Bro,

Congrats...... finally. I can imagine your excitement. Enjoy.

Don't give a hoot about others.....just enjoy youself and don't let anyone bother your enjoyment.

Change at 3000km is ok lah..... But do it during the standard 12.5k km also fine. Remember to use the right kind of engine oil too.

Velocity basically cheats the ecu to react but does not increase horsepower. Its just an electronic device that can be fixed in the cabin. Read more abt it and judge for yourself if you shl install.

There are a few things that you can do to have better performance. Why dont you PM Bro AC323. He's good in this area.

Most of all, be your ride is stock or mod, most impt of all is you enjoy to the fullest.

Funny, I experienced the opposite..... fewer cars seem to cut into my lane after I switched from my Civic to the 318 If someone cuts into your lane, just overtake and then smile at the person

Or if you sense someone wanting to cut into your lane, just close the gap with the car in front and then flick your hair and act blur I do that all the time!!

Nothing is mandatory..up to own decision..for me, i'm not 100% sure what was the content of the factory fitted engine oil..so changed after 1000km...

if dont want to change, u can try to wait till beyond 8000km onwards where u might notice the engine will kind of feel sluggish..can do a search on oil change within this forum to understand what some of the ppl here do as a routine..
