Help needed: Top up engine oil error

Hey fellow drivers,

Need help!
An error msg just pop up on my idrive screen.
It says "engine oil at min level, at next opportunity, top up with 1 litre of engine oil"

Which brand and where can I get good engine oil for n54 335? Any good lobang?

Just had my hpfp replaced last week and the advisor said my next engine oil change is due only in August. Surprised to see this error. Maybe sensor problem.

when was the last time it was topped up?

short of having a dipstick, the notification is the only way we know when engine oil level is low. most people agree that this sucks compared to the old dipstick, but in the name of convenience and progress... sigh!

the good thing is that you need to go get a1L bottle at the nearest petrol station and pour the entire bottle in. empty the entire bottle, no need to measure...

would recommend the most expensive brand you can afford, e.g. mobil supersyn, shell helix ultra, etc... should cost around $20.

recommend that you choose the 40 or 50 weight (e.g. 0W40 or 5W50) - the 30 burns up faster.

Just topped up with 5w-40 shell helix ultra.

I got oil burning issue.
Got this bottle of 'CD2 Stop Oil Burning' oil and pour it into my engine.
My oil burning issue was solved.
Cost me $7.80

According the my SA, it is normal to top up with a litre every 3.5-5km.
Happened to me as well.

More like 3500-5000 km.

Quite normal on the N54. If you service every 5,000 km, should just go back to the place you had serviced for a top up. Boss provided that service to me.

3.5-5km certainly not normal! Must have some major leak somewhere! :laughing:

3500-5000km not so bad for N54 lah....
3.5-5km / litre = major leak!!
Travel from Jurong to Changi need 10liters of oil!??
