I had a E90 before.
You should only top up the engine oil when the car tells you to; and it will tell you to top up with 1 litre. You should not put more, else engine damage can result.

Top up, preferably with the same brand and type of oil that is now in the engine. I hope you know what.

Enjoy the car. It's simple enough to get used to it fast; unlike the latest generation of BMW's, so much electric and electronic features.

guys, another noob question

for e90 engine oil, can i top it up by buying the engine oil from petrol station or i need to go workshop to drain off all the remaining oil and top up with new one (some of my friends said this)
