most GP can prescribe hair loss medication, but as stated earlier, you have to be on the medication (1 pill a day, every morning) for the rest of your life, or until you are comfortable with hair loss. it's 30+ bucks per month if i didn't remember wrongly. went with my fren before.
it stops hair loss, but doesn't restore hair growth. and there's clearly stated side effect, one of which is erectile issues. so you get your hair.. and the girls.. but no way to finish the deal. maybe they should prescribe the medication with viagra? hahahaha

From someone who have taken Propecia over the last few years, here are the facts:
1) This is prescribed medication so u need to go to the GP to get it. Typically it is $90 for a box of 28 pills for a month.
2) It DOES NOT cause any erectile dysfunction, clinical studies does show that some people display a loss of libido but that does not mean cannot stand!
3) As someone has already pointed out, the effects vary. For me, it didn't get better nor worse, I have been off the medication for more than a year and my condition has been more or less the same. Same with the libido as well. ;o)

I 101% agree with all of the above. Why? Because I was on medication for almost 1 year and did not see any difference.
And... I can still give the "oomph". (where is the hip-thrusting emoticon?)

yes. my bad. 90 plus a month. and a possible loss of libido.
so after you are off the medication, is the hair loss like pre medication, or the situation is like when you are on medication? how long were you on it?

Well, I was on it easily for more than 3 years. Some people said it got better, most said remained the same. After I stopped, some also said it got better but most said it remained the same.
My dad lost almost all his hair before he turned 35.

hmm.. interesting.. haha. maybe you took after your mother? at least ppl say either better or remain the same. dont have say worse. that's good enough oredi. actually, if not for ppl ard commenting about hair loss, i think most ppl also dont really care about their own hair loss.. a lot of hair loss you wouldnt notice yourself, other than hair in the shower. cause it's still rather gradual.
i'm suffering a bit from receding hairline. my dad's not bald, just typical middle age man. comb over style. think i'll be somewhere there in 5 - 10 years. thought about starting medication, but don't think i wanna go on something that i have to take everyday, for the rest of my life..

the final conclusion is eat that doc-prescribed pill issit?
I dun wanna depend on eating something then have the effect reversed when i stop the course leh... thats so artificial!

Even if you go to Shanghai 202 or any other shops out there, you will have to sign some thousand dollar packages which may or may not help your thinning hair if the underlying cause is medical and not due to lack of vitamins etc. If you stop the treatment at these shops, they will say no guarantee that you hair wun thin or drop again, thus making you sign more packages till you die.
So, take Propecia. One tablet a day. Follow Zoe Tay..swallow
