Good to know there's a place to share and discuss with the beemers. Bought a 6yrs old used 523i recently, first few weeks are going all fine, but noticed a few small problems.
When startup the aircon will have some gas leaking kind of light noise, and remains there. Later on I realised the coolant got empty every 1 month plus or so (filled up premixed coolant 2 times alrdy). Is something wrong with the aircon system?
Also noticed that if I start up the engine in the morning, the RPM will bounce between 1-1.5k for a few times with some noise for about 30sec, then settle at the normal idle 0.8k level. If release the brake and go to D drive the car during this grumpy moment the car will sprint a bit with the bouncing RPM which is a bit scary. Warm up the engine can avoid this problem, or if the car runs for a while and stop engine, restart also no such problem. Is this normal and just need to warm up the engine properly, or I should go to service shop to check the gearbox and engine??
